The MSc in Maritime Policy and Shipping Management programme is practically-oriented and it draws heavily on the research and consultancy of the staff, reflecting our leading international position in the field of maritime affairs.

The programme has been developed largely for students who wish to enhance their careers in international management and policy-making in a maritime context, either in practice or in academia. In the taught stage, you will study a combination of core and optional modules covering shipping operations, management, and policy formulation. Opportunities to consider shipping within wider logistics systems are also provided.

The dissertation stage allows you to further develop an area of special interest in the maritime field, enabling you to demonstrate the knowledge and skills you have gained during the taught modules.

The programme equips you to go into the private or public sectors including the business environment, government or academia.
