Institute of Education

Embracing the demands of the 21st century requires educated, engaged and active citizens; individuals with resilience and the confidence to tackle challenges. Inspiring others to grow into such individuals takes people with creativity and vision. At the Institute of Education we have the research, the expertise and the passion to help develop these people.
You can be one of these people. You can become a caring, reflective, professional educational practitioner. Someone who transforms the lives of others through education.

Whether you're furthering your skills and experience through one of our degrees, partnering with us, or joining our team, at the Institute of Education, you will be part of a community where the impact of our research and the breadth of our experience feeds directly into everything we do and the world around us.

OUR RESEARCH
Our research addresses the overarching aim of improved education and learning as a route to enhanced self-efficacy, economic well-being and life chances.

In the most recent Research Excellence Framework assessment (REF 2014), 80% of our research was rated as world-leading or internationally excellent with a global impact on educational policy and practice.

“ ... the aims of education are to enable students to understand the world around them and the talents within them so that they can become fulfilled individuals and active, compassionate citizens.”
