International students

Cardiff is a vibrant, multicultural, capital city that is home to hundreds of students from all over the world.

We know that moving to a new country to live and study can be exciting but we also recognise that it can be daunting for some of our international students.

Support for our international students

We have a very diverse student body with almost 350 international students, hailing from nearly 40 countries worldwide. As a result, we offer a range of support for our international students to help you before and after you join us.

As a prospective student you can benefit from our academic visits to various countries throughout the academic cycle.

The visits are carried out by academics and the School's International Officer and are an opportunity for you to find out more about Cardiff and the course you are interested in. During visits, our academics often give guest lectures and interactive workshops.

We also host academic webinars where you have the chance to meet key course contacts, ask questions and find out more about courses.

When you arrive in Cardiff to begin your studies you can benefit from:

  • an international student welcome talk during your induction week to ensure you settle in well to life in Cardiff
  • in-sessional English language classes delivered in the School
  • familiarisation tours as part of your foundation programme at Cardiff.
