We are based in a research-intensive university, and we are renowned as a School for the excellence of our research. Cardiff University is ranked fifth in the UK for the quality of its research and as a School we are in the top 100 in the World QS University ranking by subject.

Our research makes the connections between human geography and spatial planning. Our research led teaching bridges academic knowledge and real world situations.

We actively engage with a range of audiences and stakeholders, influencing the policy of international institutions, national government, local authorities, non-governmental and charity organisations.

We regularly host a series of engaging events, where we showcase the impact of our research and build relationships with external stakeholders and partners.

Our teaching and assessment methods allow students to maximise their learning, employability, and citizenship potential. In 2015 97% of our graduates were in employment or further study within six months. In the 2017 National Student Survey 94% of our graduating students were happy with their overall experience in the School.
