AVERAGE EARNINGS: Typical salaries for qualified primary and secondary school teachers are in the region of £22,467-£33,160, depending on experience. Within leadership and managerial roles in education, salaries can significantly exceed this. As a headteacher you could earn as much as £108,282 (DofE). Qualified actuaries in insurance companies can earn between £40,000 and £55,000.
