The Year in Industry gives students experience of chemical sciences applied to real world problems and also develops the professional skills of the individual. These skills, along with the links and networks made, will help to ensure students have the necessary tools to compete in the jobs market.

The MChem (with a Year in Industry) is a four-year programme, and will include elements of distance learning to enable students to continue enhancing the breadth of technical knowledge required for a chemistry degree, whilst also gaining practical experience in the workplace. 

The distance learning will be supported by our e-learning package to ensure students have access to all the material required to engage in self-directed study. Simultaneously combining that knowledge, practical experience, the professional skills and network gained in industry, is a very efficient way to get a competitive advantage, before entering the jobs market.
