Description
Prepare yourself for employment in the competitive wildlife conservation sector, with our MSc Wildlife Management and Conservation.
During this highly practical course you will spend the majority of your time in the field or undertaking associated laboratory work, with less than 50% of your contact hours spent in a lecture room. And by providing and encouraging you to participate in relevant extracurricular activities, we will help you hone the skills and qualities desired by employers. With its emphasis on CV development, some 90% of graduates from this course secure employment in the conservation/ecology sector or go on to study for a PhD.
During the course, you will have the opportunity to explore the world of wildlife and its conservation through the Centre for Wildlife Assessment and Conservation (CWAC) and benefit from our proximity to a number of nature reserves and government and industrial bodies with interests relevant to the course. Other facilities available to you include the University’s owns extensive areas of farmland in the surrounding countryside, as well as an area of approximately four hectares of the Whiteknights campus, which is managed by students on a voluntary basis for wildlife.
You will be taught in small classes of approximately 15 students and the course is supported by the RSPB, WWT, Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust, Hawk Conservancy Trust, Marine Conservation Society and others.
